Terrified

Terrified by Katharine McPhee featuring Zachary Levi (who knew Chuck can sing!)

You set it again
My hearts in motions
Every word feels
Like a shooting star
Im at the edge of my emotions
Watching the shadows
Burning in the dark
And Im in love
And Im terrified
For the first time
And the last time
In my only life
Life, life
In my only life

Listen and watch to its music video.

October 2010 has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays

This month, October, has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. Interesting right?!

Rumors all over the Internet says that this happens only every 823 years. But when you do a deeper research about this, this is just a myth and so not true.

The real truth as explained by OMG-Facts.com says that the 2010 calendar is identical with that of 1999 calendar. The year 1971, 2004 has the same October as this year. And this will happen again in 2021.

October 17 - My Workstation

Oh my, oh my... What a mess right? Yeah, I know it needs some tidying up but got no time tonight or shall I say too lazy to do it tonight? Opps. I guess the latter is the more appropriate answer. Haha! Sorry  friends. But promise I'll clean it up this week. :)

Now, I'm off to bed. Need to be up early tomorrow for work. Bye for now!

RaiRai Ken's Gyudon

The Gyudon is one of Dre's favorite Japanese dish. This is just one of our fave dishes that we want to try out on every Japanese restaurant we can visit to.

We're planning to try out Nonki's Gyudon very soon....

Kyohei Noodle Restaurant

We dined at Khohei Noodle Restaurant for the 2nd time last weekend. Small restaurant located at AS Fortuna Mandaue City.

We decided not to try out new dishes and go for our usual faves so that we can compare their versions with other Japanese restaurants. So we ordered... Katsudon, Ebi ramen and Gyudon.

Verdict: All the dishes we ordered are delicious especially the Ebi ramen. I love their version. Except that we wanted a sweeter flavor for the Katsudon and Gyudon.

Note: Service charge is already included on the bill.

Despite this, we will definitely go back and try out more of their ramen.

Dre's Birthday Dinner

Last September 23 we celebrated Dre's 26th birthday. On this day, I invited him to have dinner with me. My treat of course! It wasn't a super exclusive date though coz we invited 2 of our closest friends. Ryan, Dre's close friend and Gian, my bestfriend.

We had dinner at Kagura Restaurant, a Japanese restaurant located in AS Fortuna Mandaue City. After a sumptuous meal we had a few drinks at East West IT Park.

Here are some photos during our dinner at Kagura.

    01 - What's up?

    • Pretty much busy with freelance work recently. Too many tasks to do at night. Funny thing happened twice this week, i fell asleep while waiting for the meeting to start with a client. Client's on PST timezone so its just normal that it happened. Well that's what I think! Haha. Good thing, client's too nice. It was not a big of a deal for him.
    • Early this week, I received 5 employment invitations from homebased companies. Replied to 4 companies only. Update you soon about these employment opportunities.
    • Last Sept 15 there was a Barbie exhibit in SM Northwing. Photo on a separate post.
    • Impulse buy again!? Maybe not. Been eyeing on it for a couple of months now. I bought HTC Wildfire. More about this new haul on another post. (evilsmirk)
    • Last night, Pa arrived from work abroad. It's exciting because he's gonna be here this holiday season. Whooot! I cannot describe how happy I am. (biggrin)

    00 - What's Up?

    Welcome to "What's up?".

Posts labeled with it will be about updates on what has happened in the past days or weeks of my life adventures and experiences. This isn't going to be a daily nor weekly thing but whenever I just feel like it. =p

    Daily morning routine

Everybody follows a certain routine every morning. May it be a routine when you wake up, a routine in preparing oneself to work or etc. I'd like to share with you my daily routine here in the office.

    - Buy breakfast if I can't bring food from home.
    - Eat at the pantry at the table near the windows. Have a quick chat with Kylie and Era while eating.
    - At 7:05am, sits in front of the computer about 1-2 minutes doing nothing. =D
    - Turns on the computer
    - Opens Chrome browser. Read Sunstar news in English and Bisaya.
    - Reads SEO updates from SearchEngineland.com, Matt Cutts and etc.
    - Opens Twitter and Plurk. Greets everyone a lovely morning.
    - RT informative and interesting tweets from people/group I follow (mostly work stuff).

This takes around 20-30 minutes in the morning before I officially start working. So what's your daily routine? Any routine you do from home or at the office.

    The New Digg Invites

I found on my Twitter this morning that BuzzFeed is giving out free invites to the new Digg. Check it out and sign up! I already created new accounts and the new DIGG is just awesome. It's no longer your typical bookmarking or share this site. Like BuzzFeed has said it is like Twitter except with Digg.

    Repost from Tumblog: Six Years!

    A Special Task

I did a totally different and special task early this morning. My boss asked me to translate a long list of English instructions for their new househelp in Cebuano dialect. Unfortunately, their househelp couldn't understand English very much plus my boss and wife have thick Australian accent.

In my whole life, I just knew it that I don't even know a lot of Cebuano words. Haha! I still had to use an online dictionary or asked someone else. I had fun translating, I re-learned a couple of Cebuano terms.

...bye, had to starting working on my tasks now.

    Tokyo, Japan

I'm not going to Tokyo, Japan this year nor in the coming years. =) But I'd love to go there with Dre someday.

Because of Team Bati (www.teambati.org) I'm exposed to other Asian cultures especially Japan culture. Everyday I'm learning to love the country.

I bumped into a travel blog early this morning. A pretty good round up of what a traveler should know about Tokyo or Japan before going there. Chris’ travel tips – Tokyo, Japan

So to all travelers be sure to read them carefully. Some of it might sound funny to you but that's how it is. It is a must for Gaijins to adopt to it in order to have a memorable trip to this so called the Amazing Land of the Rising Sun.

    CANDWICH?

CANDWICH means sandwich in a can.

This is the sandwich for people who are always on the go and have no time to stop by restaurant or fast food. Excellent idea for campings, hiking and even on emergency situations like typhoons or floods (which always happens here in the Philippines).

Nah, it's not really a sandwich in a can but a sandwich wrapped in a plastic bag within a can. The plastic wrapping will preserve the sandwich. The can only serves as a container so it can be easily stacked in vending machines or on-the go stores and carried around.

But we won't be seeing these candwiches anytime in stores for now because its maker has a pending SEC lawsuit (details on the link).

I kinda like the idea of a sandwich in can. Very catchy and new. I want to try it once it goes out to public (Well, I hope!).

Google sued by Oracle for Ingfringement

Google was sued by Oracle for patent ingfringement of Java within Android. August 13, this news came out in almost all SEO websites and many other sites. It's all over the internet, spreading like wildfires.

More details on the technicalities here.

Let's see in the coming weeks on what will Google do about this issue.

    Eat Pray Love

You must have heard about this phrase recently, this is the title of Julia Roberts' latest film opening this week in the US. But opens on October 6 here in the Philippines according to Sony Pictures' website.

When I saw the trailer I said to myself I definitely should watch this. Aside that Julia Roberts is the lead star in the movie the plot seems to be interesting and focuses on life of a married woman in journey to find a more exciting life and travels to Italy, India and Bali to find it. Also, I'm gaga over James Franco's smile.

I've read a not so good review of the movie on IMDB. But still I'd like to watch it. Each of us have our own reasons. Here's a funny list of reasons why women should watch this movie from Buzzfeed. I LOL'd this list. 31 Reasons To Like ‘Eat Pray Love’

    Good morning Cebu!

View from the Office pantry around 6:45-ish AM. Foggy morning, definitely not smog. Another reason why Cebu is the best city in PI for me!

    New home.

    Wohoo! Good news!!!

Picstopia just moved to her new home - Definitely Hope. Picstopia.blogspot.com will retire and no new posts will be published there.

This time, I'll try my hardest to share just about anything and everything that I find to be cool, interesting, weird, sweet and definitely fascinating.

Another thing, I'm also on Tumblr. Good blog site but personally I still find Blogger the best from all of the free blog sites out there. I'm contemplating if I'm keeping my Tumblog or not. Hmmm. What do you think?
